Structurally, まい is placed after a Group 1 verb in dictionary form, or a Group 2 verb in either verb stem or dictionary form. As for the Group 3 verbs 来る and する, there are two possibilities each of くるまい/こまい and するまい/すまい, respectively. Of the two, くるまい and するまい are more common in both verbs.
When used with non-verbs, ない becomes あるまい, Nではない becomes Nではあるまい, Naではない becomes Na ではあるまい, and A-くない becomes A-くあるまい.
Can also be attached to ます to form ますまい.
